John Moriarty Football (JMF) is seeking expressions of interest for Community Coaches in various communities in NSW and NT. JMF is a successful football and wellbeing program that was originally established in Borroloola, NT in 2012.
Do you enjoy sport and want to support children in developing their football skills and overall wellbeing? If the answer is yes, we would really like to talk to you about these exciting opportunities.
We are offering a great opportunity to learn football and coaching skills while working with local children in community.
You will work with a locally based JMF Coach & Mentor, as well as receive additional training and support from our Sydney Head Office.
Coordinate and deliver the JMF Curriculum in Schools and in collaboration with other community and sports organisationsAdapt curriculum to suit players needs to ensure best practice learning environmentMentor JMF players through the JMF Core Values of Resilience, Leadership, Respect and teamworkDeliver and promote a clear player development pathway, utilising player reports each school termBe a role model for staff and players in relation to behaviour, attendance, punctuality, personal organisation and managementDeliver on Moriarty Foundation's nutrition program, including the provision of fresh cut fruit/vegetables at each session and hot nutritious meals at after-school and holiday clinicsDeliver the wellbeing program including mindfulness activities such as regulated breathing exercises and clench and release techniques.Program operations & team coordination Liaise with key stakeholders connected to program delivery, such as, school principals, health organisations, venue coordinators, local football clubs and member federationsOrganisation of program requirements through local suppliers, such as, purchasing food for the nutrition programNotify and respond on matters of staff and participants welfare, codes of conduct and behaviourEnsure accurate records are obtained in relation to the day-to-day delivery including participation, enrolment forms, incident reports and staff timesheets.Capacity building & empowerment Work closely with the JMF Head Coach and Mentor to develop your personal development plan and identify areas to focus on in your coaching delivery through shadow coaching and appraisal meetingsA commitment to completing professional development opportunities provided by Moriarty Foundation, including core training such as first aid, CPR, Indigenous mental health first aid and safe food handling, as well as role specific training opportunities such as football certifications & Certificate 3 in Sport and Recreation.Stakeholder relationships, culture & community Community organisations: develop relationships with local and regional community supports and services, including schools, local football clubs & health organisationsFamily engagement: enhance family engagement and overall awareness of the program in the community through participation in community eventsJMF staff & participants: promote and ensure the best interests of the JMF's staff and participantsCommunity Advisory Group (CAG): maintain continued dialogue with JMF community advisory members, to ensure feedback on community matters and JMF program development.CriteriaInterest in football, currently a coach/or/ have a desire to develop football and coaching skillsA passion for working with childrenInterest to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and commitment to helping create positive change amongst children in Indigenous communitiesWorking with Children's check (WWCC) and National Police CheckRight to work in AustraliaApply nowTo apply please submit your resume and cover letter (max two pages) below.
