Community Co-Ordinator

The Community Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering engagement, connection, and participation among local groups, organisations, charities, and local schools for the 2025 festival.

The primary goal is to encourage active participation and build strong networks within the community, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive festival experience.
A key focus of the role will be to coordinate and promote participation in the festival parade, making it a highlight of the event.

Key Responsibilities: Community Engagement: Actively reach out to local groups, organisations, charities, and schools to encourage their involvement in the festival.
Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure wide-ranging community participation.
Organisational Partnerships: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with our diverse partners to guarantee the success of our initiatives.
This includes regular communication and collaboration with local businesses, educational institutions, charities, and community organisations.
Parade Coordination: Plan, organise, and manage the festival parade.
Work to the creative theme, and encourage families, young people, local groups, schools, and organisations to participate.
Ensure smooth logistics and coordination on the day of the parade.
Volunteer Management: Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with the parade activities.
Feedback and Improvement: Collect and analyse feedback from participants, attendees, and stakeholders to continually improve the festival experience.
Implement changes based on community input to enhance future festivals.
Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in community engagement, event planning, and project management, preferably in areas of high deprivation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
Strong leadership and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with various stakeholders.
Ability to address and resolve issues effectively and creatively.
Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to working with community members from diverse backgrounds.
Understanding and respect for cultural diversity, ensuring inclusivity in all festival activities.
Fee: £3800.00 for 38 days between December 2024 and May 2025.
This may increase as more funding becomes available.
Flexible working hours with a hybrid in-office and home working.
