Communities and Social Performance Superintendent This is your opportunity to contribute to community and cultural outcomes in remote Northern Australia. We are seeking a senior social performance leader to manage a team of community engagement, corporate affairs and cultural specialists as Superintendent of Communities and Social Performance at Glencore's McArthur River Mine.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and managing strategies and objectives to ensure the business delivers on its social performance and human rights commitments.
About the business McArthur River Mine is world-class producer of zinc, lead and bulk concentrates with a long future. Our open cut mine is located in the Gulf region of the Northern Territory, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 65 km from Borroloola. Our zinc and bulk concentrate are transported to Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to customers all over the world.
About the role This role provides strategic advice and guidance on communities, social performance and human rights to the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team. Responsible for department budget, resourcing, compliance and reporting, it is offered on a on a 5/2, 4/3 Roster, FIFO ex Darwin on a full-time, ongoing basis.
Accountabilities Development of comprehensive Communities and Social Performance Strategy for McArthur River Mine.Oversight and implementation of the Glencore Human Rights, Social Performance and Cultural Heritage Standards, policies and procedures.Establish and implement stakeholder, human rights and social performance management plans and systems, and manage the MRM Borroloola office.Build community and social performance understanding and capabilities across operational areas of McArthur River Mine.Coordinate social risk analysis, impact assessment, assurance and management for social performance, human rights and cultural heritage.Responsible for building operational knowledge within the department to anticipate potential risks and impacts on communities.Build a common language across the business and enable greater collaboration in development of community and social performance strategies.
