We are seeking a senior social performance leader to manage a team of community engagement, corporate affairs and cultural specialists as Superintendent of Communities and Social Performance at Glencore's Mc Arthur River Mine. Reporting directly to the General Manager and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and managing strategies and objectives to ensure the business delivers on its social performance and human rights commitments. About the role This role provides strategic advice and guidance on communities, social performance and human rights to the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team. Responsible for department budget, resourcing, compliance and reporting, it is offered on a 5/2, 4/3 Roster, FIFO ex Darwin on a full-time, ongoing basis. Accountabilities Development of comprehensive Communities and Social Performance Strategy for Mc Arthur River Mine. Oversight and implementation of the Glencore Human Rights, Social Performance and Cultural Heritage Standards, policies and procedures. Establish and implement stakeholder, human rights and social performance management plans and systems, and manage the MRM Borroloola office. Build community and social performance understanding and capabilities across operational areas of Mc Arthur River Mine. Coordinate social risk analysis, impact assessment, assurance and management for social performance, human rights and cultural heritage. Responsible for building operational knowledge within the department to anticipate potential risks and impacts on communities. Build a common language across the business and enable greater collaboration in development of community and social performance strategies. The Successful applicant will have Relevant tertiary qualification. Senior or Lead experience in a similar Community Engagement role. Demonstrated experience leading a team. Proven experience developing and implementing communities and Social Performance strategies for mining or infrastructure projects. Proven experience working closely with indigenous local communities or organisations. Ability to engage with stakeholders to understand community needs while respecting cultural decision making. Exceptional level of cross-cultural awareness and understanding of cultural diversity. Proven ability to implement strategies that contribute to organisation's social performance and licence to operate. Superior communication skills and ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. Resilience, self-awareness, and ability to handle complex situations.
