An opportunity has arisen for a Communications Technician to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia.
In this role, you will report to the Communications Technician Supervisor and work on an 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be on the installation, maintenance, and repair of communication networks for underground mining activities.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Installing and expanding communication infrastructure to support mining operations and surface installations as required.Performing maintenance, fault-finding, and upgrades on underground fibre and copper communication networks and associated equipment.Maintaining and supporting site seismic equipment to ensure functionality.Developing and executing preventative maintenance strategies to maximise network availability.Assisting with documenting, updating drawings, and managing assets, including cables, cabinets, and active communication equipment.Identifying and proposing communication upgrade projects, ensuring all work meets safety and production standards.About You
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in similar technical communications roles.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
An Open Telecommunications Registration, including structured, optical fibre, and coax endorsements, or a Certificate III in Telecommunications.Proficiency in all aspects of fibre optic, coaxial, and Cat5/6 data cabling.Knowledge of IP network setup and configuration.Experience with IP-based CCTV systems.Basic skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.Current C class driver's licence (manual).About 29Metals and Golden Grove
