ABOUT CANNINGTON Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a permanent position on a 7:7 day/night roster, FIFO from Townsville/Brisbane/Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.
As the Communications Technician, you will safely maintain communication infrastructure both underground and on the surface. You are responsible for the safe execution of preventative, corrective, and reactive work to the highest level of safety and quality to ensure equipment availability.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Design, repair, and installation of communication equipment i.e. network links, DMR, fib optics, structure cabling, tele-remote systems, collision awareness systems. Programming Motorola digital radios and repeaters. Commissioning of new communication technology introduced to the site. ABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Fault-finding diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of the communications networks. Experience using Spectrum Analyzer and OTDR necessary. Commissioning of new communication technology introduced to the site. Experience with 1SAP computerized work management system, or similar. Committed to working safely with integration into very work practice and ownership of safety responsibility for self, work colleagues and visitors. Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal. Qualifications for this position are:
