Communications Specialist

The Communications Lead is a new role established to play a critical part in embedding BlueScope's Purpose: To create and inspire smart solutions in steel, to strengthen our communities for the future.

You will support the development, planning and delivery of communication materials relating to BlueScope's corporate communications strategy, both internally and externally.

The Opportunity

As a key member of our Corporate Affairs team, you will contribute to the development of enterprise communication materials, policies, stakeholder engagement plans, disclosure reports and visual infographics.

You will work closely with your colleagues in a small team and develop meaningful relationships with business leaders, cross-functional teams and external partners. Using your collaboration and influencing ability, you'll guide these stakeholders on BlueScope's key messages, stories and narratives.

In addition, you will increase our presence on specific digital channels, such as LinkedIn and Facebook, as well as investigate future opportunities that evolve our approach to employee communications.

Your Background

We're expecting you to be a highly collaborative and influential communicator, who can build trust and meaningful partnerships across an organisation. You will demonstrate a forward-thinking and a proactive approach, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical messages and insights that best position BlueScope's reputation as a market leader.

We're seeking a tertiary-qualified communications professional, with demonstrated experience in hands onwriting, within a corporate communications context. You will have a proven track record working with traditional and digitalcommunication channels and be knowledgeable on the latest trends that influence corporate communications.

Prior experience working in media agencies and corporate communication functions, would be highly regarded.

Location is Melbourne CBD within a hybrid workplace.
