About the role We are seeking a skilled Communications Rigger to join our team in the Virginia office, Brisbane. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager QLD, this permanent full-time role includes a FIFO component with a project-based roster. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining telecommunications equipment on high structures.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
A solid knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment and best practice. Install and dismantle antennas, mounts, and equipment on towers. Construction, maintenance and erection of guyed masts, towers and monopoles. Install, terminate, and test telecommunication cables (coaxial and data). Assisting and installing equipment and cables into racks, huts, and trailers. Install lightning protection and cable management systems. Weatherproof cabling and equipment. Testing and Commissioning of telecommunications equipment and antenna systems at heights.  Working alongside other trades and riggers including as rescue person and or spotter. Follow client and industry specifications, standards, and HSEQ guidelines. Read and interpret construction drawings. Complete job documentation and submit it timely. Conduct site audits and maintain a positive proactive safety culture.. Skills and experience  To be successful in this position, we are seeking candidates who can bring the following skills and experience to the role: 
Work Safely at Heights and Tower Rescue certification (within 2 years) Advanced Rigging and Boom-type elevating work platform High Risk Work licenses Provide First Aid and (within 3 years) RF EME Awareness certificate (within 3 years) Construction Induction (White Card) 3M Fall Protection Systems Installer Accreditation (within 2 years) Competency in Elevated Work Platforms (EWP) Cable Registration license with endorsements (desirable) Minimum 3 years' experience in telecommunications rigging Ability to read and understand IFC drawings. Knowledge of SWMS, JSA's & permit procedures. Mine site experience (preferred but not essential). QLD Coal Mine Clearances – Medical & Standard 11 (desirable). Strong planning and safety knowledge.
