Are you a mid-level Communications professional with a passion for driving impactful strategies? Join our team as a Communications Officer and play a key role in delivering engaging communications for major department projects.
In this high-performing Communications Divsion, you'll implement innovative strategies, create compelling content across digital and traditional channels, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. You'll be at the forefront of identifying opportunities, coordinating communication plans, and evaluating their success.
We're looking for someone with over 3 years' experience in strategic communications, exceptional writing skills, and experience working in Government. You'll be a team player with a service-focused mindset and the ability to adapt quickly to new systems.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with your Assistant Director to support the development and implementation of communication and engagement strategies.Draft and execute communication plans and strategies while managing relationships with internal stakeholders.Coordinate the implementation and evaluation of communication strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.Write and develop content for a broad range of communication channels, including web, social media, traditional media, newsletters, stakeholder toolkits, and information products.Proactively identify communication and engagement opportunities, coordinating the creation of relevant materials.Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Support team performance, organise and manage activities, and balance multiple priorities with accountability for team outcomes.Contribute to section-level corporate management, planning, and reporting processes.Key Capabilities: More than 2 years' experience in a strategic communication role.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a service and user-centred focus.Sound judgement and the ability to work effectively under pressure.Strong interpersonal skills with a proven capacity to build productive working relationships.Ability to work both independently in a small team and collaboratively across various project teams.Quick to learn and adapt to new IT systems efficiently.Demonstrated personal drive, integrity, and a results-focused approach.Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, managing and prioritising competing issues and activities.Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for employment with the department, applicants must be Australian citizens at the time of the job offer and have Government experience. Successful candidates will be required to complete:
