Primary objective: Provide advice to business units to ensure communications, marketing and digital services meet the government/agency's objectives; and facilitate the development and implementation of marketing, communication and community engagement activities across the agency.

Context statement: As part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, this role provides best practice communications services including strategic planning, content and production support for a broad range of internal and external communications activities.

Key duties and responsibilities: Provide advice and support to Executive Directors, Directors and Managers in devising and implementing program communication strategies.
Manage a broad range of communication projects and allocate resources in order to meet project outcomes, focusing on planning and logistics, resource allocation, and consideration of political and stakeholder implications.
Engage and manage consultants to ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Ensure programs meet and adhere to Northern Territory Government branding, digital, communication and procurement policies and guidelines.
Assist with coordination and maintenance of websites and update of social media content, in accordance with established strategies, policies and practices.
Advise and coordinate publishing requirements including the production of corporate and business area publications.
Selection criteria: Essential: Practical knowledge of communication and marketing processes, including producing contemporary quality publications, media monitoring, branding, event management, digital and social media, and advertising management.
Experience planning and implementing communication and marketing projects, including knowledge of stakeholder engagement and targeting a diverse range of audiences.
Well-developed organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting workloads, while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to express ideas clearly and articulately, both orally and in writing, with a diverse range of clients.
Demonstrated sound judgement in evidence-based decision making and problem solving, with the ability to think laterally.
Strong interpersonal skills, including skills in networking, stakeholder engagement and influencing.
Knowledge of a range of business management systems and processes, including procurement and coordination.
Desirable: Experience using graphic and publishing programs (e.g.
Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
