Communications Officer - Data Analytics Advisor

This Federal Government agency is seeking a Communications Officer (APS4) to contribute to a variety of communication initiatives by leveraging your strong writing skills, data insights, and interest in marketing analytics.
Your focus will be on supporting internal and external communication strategies, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and producing visual content to communicate key findings effectively.

Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate exceptional communication skills in a professional environment, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging across channels.
Use your understanding of marketing analytics to interpret web and social media metrics, contributing to the success of targeted communication campaigns.
Collect and analyse data to inform decisions, ensuring strategies are backed by insights and real-time metrics.
Conduct basic research projects to support communication initiatives and broader agency goals.
Use basic visual communication skills to create dashboards, infographics, and other visual tools that present data insights in an accessible way.
Be comfortable using Excel to organise and calculate data sets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your data management.
Contribute to storytelling using data, transforming complex information into engaging narratives for various audiences (desirable).
Key Requirements: Australian Citizenship is mandatory due to Federal Government requirements.
Demonstrated experience in a government environment, ideally with knowledge of public sector communication protocols.
A proven ability to work with data, particularly in a communications context.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in data storytelling will be a bonus.
