About the team The Internal Communication and Creative Services team is a multi-disciplinary team within the Communications Branch. Our team supports departmental priorities by developing timely, accessible and engaging content delivered through news articles, digital channels, executive communication products and all staff events. We also provide graphic design and audio-visual services for internal and external audiences, and iCentral content design.
Manages the department's internal communication requests Provides strategic communication advice to internal clients through an account management model Develops and executes communication strategies Creates news stories and dynamic content for the intranet, digital boards and all staff emails Organises and supports internal events. The opportunity Our Communication Officer roles support stakeholder relationships and business areas to deliver internal communication solutions to achieve strong outcomes for their campaigns and projects by:
Working with supervision, to provide best-practice strategic communication advice and support to clients Supporting and implementing internal communication strategies for departmental priorities Timely delivery of communication activities for account areas Creating accessible, clear and engaging content for internal audiences Contributing to positive culture within the team Supporting the Senior Communication Officer in delivering the responsibilities of the team Working closely with our design and audio-visual teams to deliver communication solutions for internal clients Managing the inbox and triaging requests Answering client queries What's in it for you? Has excellent communication skills, particularly in internal communication Can add value and is willing to go the extra mile Works well in a team and is willing to help others where needed Has excellent attention to detail Has strong organisational skills Works collaboratively to establish and maintain effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders Can write accessible content that aligns with the government style manual Desirable skills and experience: Tertiary qualifications in the communication field An understanding of government accessibility requirements and writing to the standard of the government style manual Previous experience in internal communications What you will do Work collaboratively within our team to support internal clients to develop and execute comprehensive, fit-for-purpose internal communication strategies Write and edit content for our internal communication channels including the department intranet, digital boards and videos that support departmental business objectives Ensure integrity through accuracy and consistency of messaging, responsiveness, timeliness, and quality output. Be able to multitask and turn your attention to any job required Manage a busy inbox Contribute to creating and fostering a positive team culture. Eligibility To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens. Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Notes A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
