The Role
As Communications & Marketing Manager, you'll shape and execute ABCL's communications strategy, enhancing engagement with the public, government, and members. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, you'll lead digital and corporate communications, media, and internal messaging to strengthen the brand. Working with the ABCL team, you'll manage digital content, coordinate member and event communications, and support key initiatives. This role suits a strategic, dynamic communicator eager to advance industry standards through innovative, integrated communications.
About You
You'll have a passion and motivation for writing and communications, be a positive communicator and be resourceful with a hands-on approach. As a collaborative team player who works well independently within a small team, you'll build strong relationships and support cohesive outcomes with staff, members, and stakeholders. Experience within a peak body or membership association would be a strong advantage.
Duties Develop and manage a comprehensive communications plan for both internal and external audiencesInternal communications - Oversee member-focused channels (e-campaigns, e-newsletters, Annual Report) and explore new formats like blogs, podcasts, and CEO updates.External communications - Manage digital platforms (website, LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta) and assess other potential channels.Strategic communications - Shape and oversee content for specific initiatives, targeting policymakers and other audiencesPolicy support: Assist with communications around marketing and advertising policy, including compliance frameworksEvent communications: Coordinate messaging for internal and external events including member webinars, training, and the AGMContent alignment: Ensure all communications reflect the audience and publisher whilst adhering to the style guideSkills and Experience Degree qualified in the relevant area of study or equivalentSkilled at fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, team members, and partnersAbility to think strategically and communicate organisational priorities effectively across various channelsExperienced in managing communications projects from planning through executionProficient in creating impactful print and digital content aligned with brand standardsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, including cross-cultural communicationSharp critical thinking to address challenges and develop innovative solutionsSkilled in persuasive communication, adapting messages for diverse audiencesThe ABCL is a small team that drives significant outcomes for manufacturers and consumers.
