The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Communications Manager to provide a critical role within the Adult Parole Board team.
About the Business Unit Community Operations and Parole in Justice Services is responsible for providing central end-to-end oversight of the CCS service system, including the Adult Parole Board (the Board) Secretariat, which provides operational and administrative support.
The Board is an independent statutory body established under the Corrections Act 1986, with jurisdiction over the appropriate release of prisoners on parole. The Board's paramount consideration is the safety and protection of the community.
About the Role The Communications Manager is responsible for the Board's communications and media, including developing and implementing priority tasks to deliver optimised communication outcomes.
As the Communications Manager, some of your duties will include:
Developing and implementing communication strategies by delivering targeted communication action plans in line with business objectives. Leading and delivering the Board's Annual Report in accordance with legislative requirements. Managing the Board's media policy, including anticipating and monitoring media, providing strategic advice, and responding to media enquiries. About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in the development of communication strategies and delivering effective communication programs. Experience in effectively liaising with stakeholders, including media. Strong attention to detail, editing skills, and experience in developing communication materials for print and digital mediums. Experience working with designers, including preparing briefs and managing the design process. Qualifications A tertiary qualification in communications and/or extensive experience working in communications is essential.
