Recognised as a leader in Indigenous policy and environmental management, NAILSMA has successfully delivered over $30 million in projects, partnering with governments, businesses, and Indigenous communities.

The Opportunity As the Communications Manager at NAILSMA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering innovative communication strategies that amplify Indigenous voices and showcase NAILSMA's leadership in land and sea management.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a talented team to craft compelling narratives, manage media engagement, and build partnerships with key stakeholders, including government, Traditional Owners, and Indigenous organisations.
You will oversee high-impact campaigns, promote NAILSMA's initiatives, and ensure First Nations perspectives are integrated across all communications.

About You You are a passionate and experienced communications professional with a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives.
With a proven track record in developing and executing impactful communication strategies, you excel at crafting narratives that resonate across diverse audiences.
Your strong leadership skills empower you to guide teams and manage complex projects, while your ability to build and nurture relationships ensures successful collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, and/or Media disciplines.Minimum five years' experience in journalism, marketing, communication, copywriting, and/or publication development.Ability to travel to remote and regional locations both inter and intrastate.Postgraduate qualifications in Communications, Marketing, and/or Media.Experience with all social media platforms.If you thrive in dynamic environments, have a commitment to amplifying Indigenous voices, and are ready to make a real difference, we want to hear from you.
