Capital Talent Consulting – Sunshine Coast QLD
We are currently looking for an internal Senior Communications Advisor to work with a local government department on the Sunshine Coast. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract role which will take you through until the end of 2027. In this role, you will coordinate and supervise communication services for significant projects in the North Coast Region. You will lead a team responsible for executive correspondence, issues management, stakeholder relationship management, public affairs, media relations, and community engagement.
Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
Lead, manage, and coordinate the region's executive correspondence, community relations, and community engagement programs. Supervise and coordinate the work of communications officers across the region, including review and approval of communication material. Provide tactical and operational advice to regional staff on communications issues and strategies, including the development, implementation, and resolution of strategies and communication activities. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are maintained. The ideal candidate for this role will have prior experience in a strategic communication or community engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport or civil engineering sector. A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence is preferred to travel between sites. While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing would be highly desirable, preferably with International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) in Engagement. Understanding of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia framework and how it applies to infrastructure projects would be beneficial.
