Communications Advisor 12 month, maximum-term contract based out of our Brisbane head office Flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week Hello. We're Virgin Australia. What you'll be doing
The objective of the Communications Advisor role is to assist in the planning and delivery of effective internal and external communication strategies to support the positive reputation of Virgin Australia and its services with employees and the general public.
The Communications Advisor supports the internal and corporate communication objectives and development of materials. Using their strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, they will help to deliver day-to-day internal communications, assist with campaign development and delivery, associated administrative tasks, media management and also participate in on-call media duties, outside of hours on a rotating basis.
Further responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of proactive internal and external communication programs across all of Virgin Australia Group's communication channels Assist with planning content and developing messaging for the creation of briefing notes, media releases, speeches, reports and internal campaign activity Monitor media and internal communications channels, elevating issues as necessary Assist with the planning and management of internal and external events as required Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and journalists. Work collaboratively with the Corporate Affairs team and other departments and individuals within the organisation Maintain the Corporate Affairs Calendar to ensure key events and milestones are coordinated and proactively communicated to the wider team Live and breathe our values You'll be great in this role if you...
have a tertiary qualification in Communications or similar have minimum 2 years' experience in a communications/public relations role are passionate about internal and employee communications in an exciting, issues-rich industry and environment have experience writing content for campaigns have experience working with media/creating newsworthy content are extremely organised. Previous experience in a fast-paced corporate environment or event management is highly advantageous have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills are eager to learn and be part of a high-performing team and you have experience collaborating in a highly team-focused environment are comfortable embracing transformational change you are passionate about aviation/travel are open to a full-time, 12-month maximum-term contract (with potential for the contract to be extended/role to be made permanent if business requirements prevail).
