We are currently seeking an A05 Communication Advisor. Pay rate $64+ p/h + super Located in Nerang QLD ASAP to 6 months assignment with potential to extend, pending business and performance requirements About the role As a Communications Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic community and stakeholder management services to our technical and professional staff. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs, and stakeholder relationship management. Your responsibilities will include: Offer communication advice and support to Project Directors, Communications Leads, managers, and other staff on media and issues management, crisis communications, risk assessment, and reporting, as well as community engagement and communication strategies. Take expert accountability for crisis and reputation management strategies, identifying key risks associated with departmental actions. Provide guidance on communication strategies for challenging stakeholders and critical conversations related to projects. Develop strategies for stakeholder management, consulting with various interest groups. Prepare communications materials such as media releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, speeches, and more. Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities for infrastructure projects, providing ongoing strategic communications advice to project managers. Plan and manage key communication activities such as road commissioning, launches, and media opportunities. Provide training, advice, and support to project staff and consultants to enhance communication skills and improve relationships with stakeholders and the community. Develop and implement communication strategies, activities, procedures, and policies to achieve project objectives. Ensure operational practices comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation, and governance obligations. About You To thrive in this role, you need: Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or equivalent work experience. Previous experience in managing difficult stakeholders and critical conversations. Experience in major infrastructure project environments and social media competency. IAP2 or equivalent training in community engagement and public participation. Knowledge of the infrastructure planning lifecycle. Must have full working rights in Australia.
