In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.Job DescriptionWe require an experienced Communications Technician to take a key position within our team!We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Technician to join our team at Capcoal – Lake Lindsay in Middlemount QLD.Reporting to the Service Delivery Coordinator, you are responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance and repair of communication systems on site, in compliance with relevant legislative requirements and Capcoal Safety Health Management System.The Communications Technician will support the Service Delivery Coordinator and must be able to work as a team, acting in a manner which supports delivering departmental plans and continuous improvement objectives:Foster collaborative relationships with team members, ensuring that AAC's culture and values are promoted in all interactions.Respond to business-critical events as required.Participate in safety processes, including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and SOP reviews.Travel across site to respond to tasks as required.Additionally, you will contribute significantly to the leadership of the site and work collaboratively with team members to deliver on the business plan. You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of the site strategy, monitoring and managing the performance of the mine site against set plans, and demonstrating a commitment to safety and positive work behaviours.The Communication Technician is responsible for leading and facilitating the implementation of all people, safety, technical and operating business systems. It is imperative to ensure overall compliance with all systems and provide governance to ensure the system is optimized and improved when possible.ExperienceModular Mining systemsCambium PTMP Network access points & linksP25 Digital two-way radio communication equipment (towers, repeaters)Omnitronics Systems AltoOff grid Solar charging systems including remote backup system, interrogation and fault finding.Hexagon CAS systems on light and heavy vehicles, programming and fault finding.Level 9 Hexagon CAS on heavy vehicles, programming and fault finding, including RCT products.Hexagon OAS-HV systems (Guardvant)Breadcrumb systems (Rajant) which control the wireless mesh system (LAN)Ubiquiti wireless network point to point linksCommunication Systems across a range of equipment including draglines, excavators, haul trucks and light vehicles.Tyre sense fault finding and programming.Interrogation of Network switchesLTE System (4G Network)QualificationsMinimum Cert III in TelecommunicationsAustel Licence with open endorsements in:Structured cablingCoaxialAerialAdditional Information2 X Full-time, permanent positionsLocation – Capcoal opencut – Lake Lindsay, Middlemount, AustraliaMultiple roster options availableResidential, DIDO, FIFO (salary sacrifice) optionsSubsidised accommodationWhat we OfferWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
