Your new role: As the Senior Network Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the performance and reliability of the organisation's network infrastructure. You will have a deep understanding of network systems, the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues, and the capability to lead projects and mentor junior staff. Ideally, you will have extensive experience in network architecture, troubleshooting, and the deployment of various network technologies.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures; Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Configure and install various network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations. Implement and maintain network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures. Lead network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget. What you need to excel: You will possess the following technical expertise and experience:
Expert level experience in network engineering or a related field In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and services (e.g., DNS, DHCP). Hands-on experience with network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Aruba, Arista, Dell, FortiNet, Zscaler, etc. Proficiency in network security principles and practices. Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools like PRTG, Dynatrace, etc. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with various stakeholders and customer groups. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting 1 level security clearance. Current security clearance is desirable however not mandatory .
