As the Commissioning Lead for Primero, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of professionals working on a billion-dollar gold expansion project. Your main focus will be to ensure that all activities under your supervision are carried out in accordance with safety, health, environmental, quality, completion, and production targets for each task.
The first 6-9 months of this role will be based in the CBD office preparing key technical documents such as Commissioning Execution Plans and Commissioning Test Procedures. Transition to site on a 2:1 roster as 2IC to the Commissioning Manager.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead the Commissioning process for the project.
Develop and implement Commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on Commissioning best practices.
Oversee the testing and validation of Systems to ensure operational readiness.
Manage and mentor a team of Commissioning engineers and technicians.
Maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
Proactively plan the works assigned to you on the project to ensure that the resources required to meet your primary purpose are adequate and fit for purpose.
Ensure that all data requirements for robust projects and financial control are met consistently, completely and on a timely basis as directed by the Commissioning Manager.
Develop relationships which maximise the likelihood of repeat or initial business opportunities.
Effectively manage multiple jobs on site with number of Commissioning Supervisors, Engineers and/or Vendors.
Liaise with client representatives, sub-contractors and/or vendors on technical and minor contractual issue.
Directly accountable for setting up the Commissioning worksites to ensure that all activities can be conducted in a safe manner for persons working on the site, members of the contractor's workforce and visitors.
Responsible for ensuring that pre-start meetings are held daily with all personnel working on the site including subcontractor personnel.
Assist in the development of Commissioning Risk Assessments.
Conduct Daily Field Safety Observations.
What you 'Can do'
At least five (5) years' demonstrable experience as a "Commissioning Lead" on similar projects.
Degree qualified in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering.
CPEng status would be advantageous.
Current Drivers License.
Construction Induction – OHS White Card.
Prior experience in the start-up phase of processing plants.
An understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Ability to be sufficiently flexible and resourceful to cope with the inherent load fluctuations of the profession.
Provide assistance, as needed or directed, to deliver a quality product on schedule.
Possess a strong understanding of applicable codes of practice.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
Possess high level of analytical ability used to solve complex problems.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to quality, safety and understanding of OH&S best practice and obligations.
Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and tenacity.
You are an experienced leader with excellent people skills, the ability to motivate, inspire and lead a dynamic team across all levels of the business.
