Are you an experienced mechanical engineer ready to take on a lead role in commissioning? We are seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to manage the commissioning of new project installations, both on-site and off-site. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that our mechanical and part-electrical equipment operates at optimal efficiency.

About the Role: As a Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the full range of commissioning activities, including testing and ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in our springs department. You will collaborate with setters, operators, and other departments to guarantee seamless machine performance and respond swiftly to service user needs.
Your responsibilities will range from commissioning new installations and overseeing existing machinery moves to contributing to design and process improvements. You will also play a key role in maintaining safety standards, ensuring compliance with hazardous area regulations, and keeping detailed commissioning documentation. Additionally, you will be involved in preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure the efficient running of our machines.
About you: We are looking for a mechanically skilled engineer who thrives in a team environment and has a proactive approach to solving problems. If you are driven by continuous improvement and can handle both technical and practical challenges, we want to hear from you.
City & Guilds trained/qualified in mechanical engineering. Electrical experience desirable but not essential. Apprentice-trained or time-served. Experience with FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests). Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic technical drawings. Competent in using computer systems for data recording and production. PLC experience is desirable but not essential. If this sounds like you, we would love to connect and chat about the details.
