About the role: We are currently looking for multiple Commissioning Engineers (junior and senior levels) for permanent full-time opportunities based at our Melbourne CBD Office. These positions will be primarily responsible for facilitating and leading commissioning activities on major electrical projects with specific responsibility to be a subject matter expert in the field of testing commissioning of primary and secondary equipment.
The roles will also provide effective high level specialist engineering support to project teams and stakeholders to assist with quotations, bids and tender submissions.
As a commissioning engineer, you will be accountable for all testing and commissioning activities within your portfolio. This role will require you to work predominantly locally in Melbourne with some travel to sites.
What you'll deliver: Perform HV testing and commissioning of primary equipment (AC and DC) ranging from 415V - 500kV including power transformers, auxiliary transformers, CBs, CTs, VTs, rectifiers, switchgear etc.Perform secondary injection relay testing in transmission, distribution, generation and traction environmentsTest SCADA systems and communication systemsValidate design and verify complex protection and control philosophies/schemesIntegrate new protection and control schemes to new and existing 'in service' schemesCompose and compile commissioning methodology, management plans, relay test plans, ITPs, test reports, commissioning plans and 'as built' documentationManage and lead the delivery of testing and commissioning activities including managing internal and sub-contracting resourcesDevelop and implement commissioning sequencing plans and schedulesCommunicate and share knowledge to a wide range of internal and external customers with either extensive or no technical backgroundTo succeed in the role, you'll have: Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems preferred, or a bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)Proven industry experience in testing and commissioning primary and secondary protection and control equipment.Advanced knowledge in power systems protection principles and applicationsProven ability to develop and lead commissioning activities in an electrical utility industryProject management experience, preferably in an electrical distribution, sub-transmission, transmission and/or infrastructure environment (advantageous)Experience / exposure to ICE 61850 testing principles (advantageous)Experience with Omicron, Doble, F6150, CMC256, CMC356, CPC100 & CT analyser and SCADA (advantageous)What's next?
