Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Commissioning Engineer / Assistant Tester who thrives in a fast-paced environment. About the Position As part of Cross River Rail, a new world class ETCS signalling system will be delivered by a collaboration between Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Queensland Rail and Hitachi Rail through the Sequence Alliance.
This role sits within the commissioning team who collectively support the delivery of this key project.
Key accountabilities: Participating in the testing and commissioning of on-board, trackside, communications and control systems.
Supporting factory and site testing as required.
Supporting in fault identification during set to work activities and during commissioning.
Carrying out correlation of existing installations to verify the design inputs match the installation.
Supporting the continuous improvement of project documentation.
Supporting the Construction team where required including:
Wiring and termination of signalling equipment either on-board trains, in trackside locations, in communications locations or in control centres.
Installation of signalling equipment and cables for on-board, trackside, communications and control centre applications.
Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project.
Key knowledge and experience: Electrical Trade qualification or IRSE Assistant Testers License is essential.
3-5 years' experience in a similar role in the Rail Signal industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:
Railway equipment and environment.
Use of Test equipment (e.g. Digital and Analog multimeters, insulation meters, etc.)
Use of Computer based test software.
Knowledge of Incident/accident investigation.
Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools.
Knowledge of Database tools.
Knowledge of tendering process.
Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimation.
Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a challenging environment.
Ability to analyse data and draw insights to inform decision-making.
Ability to form and build key stakeholder relationships.
