City of Newcastle (CN) is currently seeking Commissionaires to join our Civic Services team.
Civic Services manages key CN venues and cultural facilities.
The team is passionate about Newcastle, culture, and the venues they look after, all with the aim of greater community benefit.
We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity and casual opportunities for this role.
As a Commissionaire (with Security), you'll manage event delivery and venue operations within City Hall, levels 1 and 6 of 12 Stewart Avenue, Fort Scratchley Function Centre and event / meeting spaces in other locations as required.
The role will be responsible for delivering events and taking the lead role of event delivery and venue operations during functions where a Duty Manager is not rostered on.
Specific duties will include but are not limited to: emergency management, security (monitoring the venue and responding and managing escalated security issues), providing exceptional customer service throughout the running of events, event setup (including audio-visual and staging), providing cleaning and venue presentation services; undertaking routine maintenance activities; and providing all required event and security support for civic events such as Council Meetings and Citizenship Ceremonies.
In this role you may have to deal with difficult situations on occasion, so strong emotional maturity and discretion are required.

Remuneration: $73,507.52 + 11.5% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week OR casual hourly rate of $46.32 + 11.5% Superannuation (inclusive of casual loading).
