About the role
We are currently seeking a Commis Chef to work on a Full-Time basis in our Brand-new Steakhouse, opening November 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment!
In order to succeed in this role, you must be meticulous, organised and passionate about cooking quality dishes. Previous experience in restaurant and/or café service is essential.
About You
As someone with previous experience in the hospitality industry, you will possess a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You will have a willingness to build long-term relationships with customers and will have impeccable grooming, presentation and communication skills.
As a member of our team, you will have the skill set to work both independently and in a team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Ingredient Preparation: responsible for measuring, peeling, chopping, and mixing ingredients, ensuring that dishes are prepared efficiently and to the chef's specifications.Assisting Senior Chefs: work under the guidance of the chef de partie and sous chef, helping with various tasks, including cooking and plating dishes.Maintaining Cleanliness: responsible for cleaning the workstations and ensuring that health and safety standards are met.Learning and Development: This role is designed for growth. The commis chef is encouraged to learn about different kitchen stations and culinary practices, which helps them advance in their careers.Food Safety: regularly check expiration dates on ingredients and discard any expired items to minimize waste and ensure food safety.Basic Cooking Tasks: assist in cooking simple dishes or preparing components for more complex meals.Demonstrate a sound level of cooking skills.Develop and implement safe systems of work.The Benefits
