About the role: The Senior Commercial Finance Manager (Supply Chain) will serve as the financial and commercial lead for API's supply chain operations. This role involves being the key finance partner to the General Manager (Supply Chain) and leading a team of commercial partners across distribution centres, freight operations, and reporting functions.
Key responsibilities: Lead Supply Chain Strategic Planning:Own and manage the financial aspects of supply chain strategic initiatives, including the Accelerate workstream.Support commercial negotiations (e.g., vendor negotiations, network strategy).Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring stakeholder alignment and timely execution.Manage business case preparation and conduct post-implementation reviews, ensuring all strategic initiatives are properly costed and benefits calculated.Lead Financial Analysis & Reporting:Oversee operational financial reporting, including insights for trade and month-end close processes.Analyse performance trends, provide scenario/sensitivity analysis, and deliver accurate forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, and recommendations.Lead financial evaluations for new business models, growth opportunities, and feasibility studies (e.g., new Distribution Centres).Prepare monthly Board reports and financial sections for business case submissions.Leadership & Team Management:Lead and develop a high-performing team of Supply Chain Finance Business Partners and DC Commercial Managers.Provide on-the-job coaching and identify growth opportunities for team development.Collaboration with Partners:Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including GM of Supply Chain, Supply Chain Leadership, and EGM Wholesale.Provide financial business partnering for Supply Chain transformation projects, including expansion and cost-saving initiatives.Drive Systems & Process Improvements:Identify and implement financial process improvements.Develop systems and templates to ensure data integrity and support management's analysis, forecasting, and budgeting needs.What you'll bring: Education/Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance-related discipline.Skills & Experience: 10 - 15 years in fast-paced, high-performing commercial finance roles supporting Supply Chain, with at least 5 years in management positions.Experience in FMCG, Retail, Pharmaceutical, and/or Supply Chain sectors is advantageous.Proven track record in performance insights, business planning, and budgeting in a commercial context.Experience in financial evaluation of projects and preparing formal business cases.Ability to provide value-adding commercial and business advice to senior management.Strong experience in building effective partnerships between support and business functions.Critical thinking and strong cross-functional problem-solving abilities.Ability to facilitate alignment and shared understanding across teams.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead by example.Why us?
