The purpose of the Rio Tinto Steel Decarbonisation (RTSD) team is to:? Protect the long-term value of Rio Tinto's iron ore through development and scale up of cost-effective technologies that utilise our iron ores in the future low-carbon steel industry To position Rio Tinto to participate in the nascent green iron market, and To provide steel decarbonisation analysis and intelligence to support decisions on Rio Tinto's future iron ore resource portfolio, product strategy, and renewable energy development.

The primary accountability of this role is to identify, define, develop and lead commercialisation pathways for existing and emerging iron and steel decarbonisation opportunities within RTSD.
? Reporting to the Senior Manager Steel Decarbonisation Business Development, you will be: External facing for the development of relationships with industry peers, customers, technology providers, customer representatives, JV participants and other industry stakeholders to identify and develop early-stage and partnering opportunities for RTSD.
Lead and shape commercial aspects of projects, including participation, timing and leveraging enablers such as government and industry leveraged funding.
Working with internal stakeholders, to identify, assess and mitigate commercial & technical risks.
Be a key focal point for the region to strategically align and identify key interdependencies across projects in the region What you'll bring To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: Deep interpersonal and influencing skills Around 10-15 years of commercial experience with a background in sales and marketing or commercial or procurement or legal Understanding of adjacent markets and their influence on decarbonisation pathways Proven abilities in navigating and operating successfully in a matrix organization, with stakeholders' engagement and business partnering skills being key requisites Where you will be working Centrally located in beautifully appointed offices in Central Park – Perth, CBD.
