Fantastic opportunity to join one of the University's high-performing teams in DVC Research Full-time, continuing position Base Salary $108,557 to $118,267 + 17% Superannuation About the Opportunity The Commercialisation Team at the University of Sydney is seeking a Commercialisation Associate to join them!
As a Commercialisation Associate, you will actively engage with the University's Research Community and industry partners to facilitate and develop commercialisation opportunities.
You will provide high-quality advice on Intellectual Property (IP) and commercialisation matters, supporting stakeholders across the University Innovation Ecosystem.
Additionally, you will assist in developing and negotiating various agreements, including inter-institutional, collaboration, licensing, and new venture agreements between the University, companies, and other research organisations.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and due diligence on new IP disclosures.
Support commercialisation projects through market and competitor analysis, preparing technology marketing flyers or pitch decks, and identifying potential licensees or investors.
Review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements.
Market the University's commercialisation opportunities through various channels.
Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders, including industry partners and investors.
Identify commercial opportunities within the University, advising on IP and commercialisation.
Lead the creation of communication platforms to promote the University's commercialisation initiatives.
Use project management skills to ensure successful delivery and governance of commercial projects.
About You If you are innovative, detail-oriented, possess strategic thinking, and can manage complex initiatives, you are the candidate we're seeking.
We are looking for:
Ability to review, develop and negotiate legal contracts between the University and other parties.
An understanding of intellectual property protection and management.
Tertiary qualifications in Science or Engineering and/or relative work experience in the research sector is highly desirable.
Ability to foster an entrepreneurial culture and build partnerships between the research, business, and investor communities.
High level of oral and written communication skills and ability to manage competing demands.
Ability to identify capabilities and resources within the faculties, develop commercial plans, and markets for identified services.

This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
