The Role As a Commercial Property Insurance Specialist, your main focus will be writing new business commercial and residential property insurance policies.
Reporting to Trent Nolan, Managing Director, Rethink Property Insurance Services Pty Ltd, you'll work closely with our Sydney-based buyer's agents and other team members to support clients through the insurance process for their newly acquired investment properties.
The role involves providing quality insurance coverage for a wide range of mainly commercial property types, including retail buildings, industrial facilities, childcare centres, office spaces, and more.
There is no requirement necessarily to bring a book of business.
You will be generously supplied multiple monthly introductions to already-qualified existing clients of the firm who will require new insurance policies to be placed for their new property within a few weeks of the introduction, and this will reoccur on an ongoing basis.
Due to the unique and rare circumstance of this type of arrangement, it is absolutely essential your ability to convert these already-qualified opportunities to be very high.
In addition, we will welcome your input as to how to achieve additional sales opportunities outside of the already-supplied funnel.
Key responsibilities include: Writing new commercial and residential property insurance policies for clients' new property acquisitionsCollaborating with buyer's agents and internal team members to ensure smooth and efficient customer experience for new settlementsHandling occasional overflow tasks related to policy renewals and complex endorsementsWriting Business Package and ISR policiesUsing quoting tools such as SCTP and Sunrise to source competitive pricing and policy generationMentoring and collaborating with your dedicated Virtual Assistant (VA) to streamline workflows, minimise your administrative tasks, and maximise your focus on converting new businessRepresenting Rethink Property Insurance at social and industry events to build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and our other key stakeholdersA generous bonus structure will be in place, with payments made quarterly based on exceeding sales and customer service targets.
While there is limited travel required for the role, there may be an occasional requirement for you to attend industry events or networking opportunities.
The role offers flexible working arrangements, with up to four days per week working from home.
We'll support you in setting up your home office.
About You To be successful in this role, you should possess: A sales-driven mindset with a proven track record in converting new business and achieving high-quality results, with a high premium placed on quality of workmanship in regards to the policies placed.General insurance broking experience, with a focus on business package and ISR.A Tier 1 Broking qualification (or higher).Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively using tools such as MS Teams with an emphasis placed on responsiveness & engagement.Proficiency in quoting tools like SCTP and Sunrise to source competitive pricing.Experience writing property owner Business Package and ISR policies (or the ability to learn quickly).High proficiency in using workflow management software (e.g., Monday.com).A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on team collaboration.A strong work ethic and attention to detail.Bonus: Experience working for insurers is a plus, but not essential.
