Reporting to the Team Leader, Finance & Commercial, this role will work as a part of a broader team responsible for the delivery of financial policy advice, management accounting and reporting, procurement services, asset management, fleet services and facilities services aligned to business needs.
This role will be accountable for upholding sound procurement practices and management in achieving value for money in acquiring goods or services on behalf of the business or broader AFP. This role will also play a key role in the delivery of day to day services that enables the business's financial and commercial compliance and operational readiness.
To be successful in this role, you will be dynamic and flexible in your approach to day-to-day work, have the ability to organise your work, make sound decisions and achieve outcomes. You work productively across the team, sharing information and cooperating to deliver on team objectives. You engage with multiple stakeholders, communicating effectively to deliver high-level outcomes that foster a positive reputation and trust in the team.
What will you do? Leading the procurement of goods and services. Delivering sound Command-specific procurement activities that achieve value for money in accordance with relevant governance. Assisting with end of month processes and internal reporting to ensure data and reporting integrity and statutory reporting obligations are met. Liaising with the Team Leader on Procurement, Finance and Commercial policy and procedural matters. Proactively engaging with cost centre owners and relevant stakeholders across the Command to provide targeted and relevant financial advice and support to drive timely acquisition of goods and services. Undertaking asset management activities including stocktakes, asset disposal and contributing to annual asset replacement budget bids. Supporting localised training to the frontline on procurement processes, including the timely advice on procurement processes. Coordinating Fleet including utilisation reporting, servicing, fuel cards, insurance claims, parking and infringements. You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application. A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one. High level oral and written communication skills to inform, resolve conflicts, and negotiate with customers, suppliers, team leaders and Managers. Experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving procurement outcomes and to establish and maintain strong effect effective working relationships Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and provide excellent customer service A demonstrated working history working in corporate or commercial environments. Works under broad direction, independently or as part of a team and priorities, plans and coordinates activities, implements change and mitigates risk. Up to 5 years of relevant working experience or up to 2 years' experience in procurement or purchasing role. Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or procurement, contract management and commercial management. Additional Information This role is based in South Australia and applicants will be expected to be based in SA or be willing to relocate.
