About the role: UGL are seeking an experienced Commercial & Procurement Lead to join our team on an ongoing basis working on a major Oil & Gas project.
Commencing ASAP, you will be working a 5/2 roster within Perth CBD, point of hire is Perth, WA.
Key Responsibilities: Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage and oversee the project budget, ensuring that all expenditures align with the projects WBS & financial objectives.Procurement Strategy: Lead and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and administer contracts, ensuring favourable terms that align with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.Risk Management: Analyse and mitigate commercial risks associated with the contracts financial performance, procurement, subcontracting, and supplier performance.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of contract and commercial professionals, fostering collaboration across departments.Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, and industry standards.
Prepare regular progress reports for senior management.About you: Proven experience in a contract / commercial lead role, ideally within the Oil & Gas construction sector as a main contractor performing SMP and/or E&I scope.Strong understanding of construction project management, project controls, procurement processes, and commercial contracts.Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
