About the roleReporting to the Head of Airport Planning and working closely with AAL's Property team, the Commercial Planning and Approvals Manager will be responsible for the coordination and provision of planning advice to inform future commercial developments (site specific), AAL business cases, lease agreements and approvals to effectively communicate requirements and provide the necessary support to enable these developments to proceed.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the strategic planning of commercial precincts at Adelaide and Parafield Airport and statutory planning through the assessment of Development Applications, Major Development Plans and Building Applications, as required against regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilitiesCoordination and provision of planning advice to inform requirements for future commercial developments (site specific), working closely with AAL's Property team to effectively communicate requirements and expectations to potential tenants, developers and other third parties and providing the necessary support to enable the vision of all parties to be realised.
This may also include: Provision of inputs to inform business cases and lease agreements, Consultation with local/state authorities, Community engagement, Coordination of internal and/or external approvals.Manage the strategic planning of Adelaide and Parafield Airport through the coordination, delivery and implementation of precinct plans, acknowledging changes that will occur over time to existing precinct plans.Manage the statutory planning across the airport through the assessment of Development Applications, Major Development Plans and Building Applications, as required against regulatory requirements, ensuring developments are aligned to Adelaide and Parafield Airport's Master Plans and relevant planning and infrastructure master plans and guidelines.Contribute to the development and approval of the Airport Master Plans for Adelaide and Parafield Airports.Contribute to the development of the capital plans for Adelaide and Parafield Airports.The personThe Commercial Planning and Approvals Manager is a passionate professional that thrives in a busy and supportive work environment.
Working as part of the close-knit Airport Planning team within the broader Planning and Infrastructure business unit, you are a positive and motivated team player with the ability to proactively develop effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You have excellent attention to detail, are commercially astute and exhibit high verbal and written communication competency.
You will have a minimum of fifteen postgraduate years of experience in engineering, development, construction, and/or planning fields and demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of strategic plans and statutory approval processes.
Skills and experienceThe Commercial Planning and Approvals Manager has the ability to plan and make decisions which consider many criteria (e.g.
technical, sustainability, capital and operating costs, maintenance, program, community etc).
You have demonstrated experience managing projects and consultants to achieve quality, program and budget outcomes.
You have a collaborative and adaptable approach to prioritising your work with effective and confident communications skills and ability to understand, support and nurture all stakeholders, including staff, developers, consultants, contractors, relevant local and state authorities.
Technically, you are highly proficient in preparing and managing business information with excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in the aviation sector and/or understanding of airport legislative requirements will be advantageous.
