They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to lead a high-value, strategic $500 million Defence Project. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company and make a significant impact on a landmark defence initiative.As the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all commercial aspects of the project lifecycle, from early ECI involvement to project delivery. This includes managing contracts, negotiations, budgets, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership will drive strategic decision-making and commercial outcomes, ensuring the project's success and alignment with our clients' goals.Key Responsibilities:Lead all commercial and contractual aspects of a major project with a variety of scopes including marine, civil infrastructure, multi-storey buildings, and electrical.Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with financial targets.Oversee contract negotiations and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and suppliers.Implement effective risk management strategies to identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.Monitor project performance, including cost, schedule, and quality, to ensure milestones are met and corrective actions are taken when necessary.Provide strategic commercial input to senior management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with project teams to drive project delivery and address any emerging challenges.Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and defence industry standards.Key Requirements:Must possess full Australian working rights.A minimum of 10 years experience in a commercial management role, preferably within the defence, construction, or infrastructure sectors.Proven track record of managing large-scale, high-value projects (ideally $100 million+).In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial negotiations, and risk management.Experience with defence projects or government contracts is highly desirable.Experience managing the full life cycle of projects including ECI involvement.Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage complex budgets and forecasts.International supply chain experience.Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to navigate complex commercial and contractual landscapes including the handling/resolution of claims and disputes.Head contractor and lump sum experience.Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, construction, or a related field.On Offer:Leadership opportunity on a major defence project.Collaborative work culture with a focus on innovation and professional development.$200k base salary plus super.Opportunity to work on one of the most significant defence projects in the industry, contributing to national security and the advancement of Australia's defence capabilities.If you are a results-driven, strategic commercial leader with experience managing large-scale defence projects, we would love to hear from you.
