CHL is driven by a collaborative team culture where every member plays a vital role in achieving our mission.The RoleAs a Commercial Manager, you will work closely with the Investment Division to assess, recommend, execute, and monitor the delivery of social and affordable housing projects.
This will involve ensuring that projects meet the organisation's commercial objectives while achieving measurable social impact.
You will leverage your commercial acumen, deep understanding of capital structuring, and experience in commercial contracting to help shape the future of our portfolio.Key Responsibilities:Project Assessment & Execution: Support the screening and assessment of new project opportunities, focusing on financial, credit, bankability, and impact analysis.
Conduct comprehensive due diligence, industry research, financial modelling, and impact assessments to provide well-supported recommendations.Financial & Capital Models: Develop detailed financial and capital funding models to support the successful execution of projects and proposals.Commercial Interfaces: Manage the commercial relationships between external advisors, ensuring the ability to interrogate and interpret advice effectively.
Proactively mitigate and solve identified risks.Business Case Preparation: Prepare and present business cases, recommendations, and reports to the Project Board, Investment Committee, and Board of Directors.Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with government bodies, project partners, and capital providers.
Ensure the successful satisfaction of all conditions within these agreements.Tender & Proposal Contribution: Assist in preparing tender and funding proposals for new projects and initiatives.Portfolio Performance Monitoring: Monitor and assess the ongoing performance of the project portfolio, identifying and mitigating risks related to both financial outcomes and social impact.Advocacy: Represent and advocate for the organisation at relevant industry forums and events, championing the development of a robust and sustainable social housing system.About youAlong with your commitment to our organisation's mission, vision, and values, with a passion for social impact, you will all have the following:Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar commercial related role in the Housing sector or within Banking, Fund/Investment Management, Property Development or similar.Strong financial analytical skills including ability to structure capital requirements.Experience in balancing social impact objectives with financial performanceExperience in leading stakeholders within project teams with multiple workstreams.Ability to negotiate and influence with strong commercial acumen, contracting experience.Willingness and ability to share insights and make sounds recommendationsA strong interest in the social housing sector with a desire to learn and influence for change.
