Vertex Minerals Limited is a gold mining company with a focus on redeveloping the Reward Gold Mine at Hill End NSW.
The Project is in the central west of NSW, Australia, between the major regional centres of Bathurst and Mudgee, and is approximately 200km WNW of Sydney. The processing plant is presently under construction with commissioning expected in January 2025.
Initial production will be sourced from stockpiles adjacent to the processing plant before moving to high grade underground sources in the second quarter of 2025. About the role… Company is now seeking to appoint a Commercial Manager to play a key role in setting up the new operation.
The appointee will report to the General Manager and be responsible for a broad range of commercial, accounting and administrative activities associated with the Reward Gold Mine operations.
These activities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Effective management and operation of all purchasing, logistics, inventory management and warehousing activitiesAssisting Departments with the negotiation and ongoing management of all supply contracts for services or suppliesEnsuring that appropriate systems and procedures are in place so that the site provides the corporate office with accurate and timely information on revenue and costsCoordinating the development of annual capital and operating budgets and reporting and analysing actual performance against these approved budgetsEnsuring all financial activities are undertaken in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirementsEnsuring that all site administration functions are undertaken in an efficient mannerCoordinating continuous improvement initiatives to improve operating efficiencies and optimising costsEnsuring that appropriate insurances are in placeManaging the site's IT services and supportIdentifying and managing material commercial and financial risksAbout you… You will need to be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is keen to take on the challenges and responsibility of setting up a new operation.
For this role you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or AccountingExperience in a capital-intensive industry (mining, manufacturing or heavy industry) in a site-based roleSignificant exposure to accounting and reporting, budgeting and reforecastingFamiliarity with contract management, purchasing and warehousingDemonstrated ability to lead, develop and manage teamsExperience providing commercial and financial guidance to the site management teamDemonstrated ability to create business plans and deliver timely executionBe flexible and keen to manage a range of non-accounting activities such as site security and ITIdeally you will have experience in a site-based role in the mining industry.We would prefer the appointee to be residential in Bathurst and we would offer a very competitive salary, a 9-day fortnight and if not currently residing in the Bathurst region, we would provide assistance to relocate and settle in Bathurst.
Bathurst is located about 200 kms west of Sydney.
