Our team is growing in response to high-profile Government projects.
We have exciting opportunities to join our dynamic Commercial team in Canberra and Sydney working with partners Elizabeth Skelly and Rachel Bannikoff.
This team advises on major projects, and general procurement, contracting and commercial matters for a variety of Australian Government clients.
We are looking for candidates with a desire to develop their skills and knowledge in this area, primarily working with the Department of Defence through our commercial advisory practice with HWLE Consulting.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your legal skills on general commercial and contract law matters, and major procurements (including ICT projects) for other Australian Government clients.
The opportunity We have career-defining opportunities for graduates or recently admitted lawyers to join our highly regarded Commercial and Government Projects team.
As part of the team, you will be working on some of the most complex and strategic procurement and projects advice and transactions for the country's largest and most interesting Australian Government clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for: strategic and complex major project work for Australian Government; general commercial and contract advisory work; preparing and reviewing approach to market documentation and contracts; and advising on all stages of the procurement lifecycle – design, collaborative tendering processes, industry engagement, tender evaluations, tender negotiations and contract management and performance.
Ideally you will have: 0-2 years PAE; an interest in working on government transactions, procurement and commercial matters; good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to deal with clients and other parties; ability to draft clear and concise communications; and the desire to develop your career in one of the most sought after Commercial and Government Projects teams in Australia.
Candidates should have the ability and willingness to apply for a AGSVA Baseline clearance (or preferably hold a Baseline clearance).
