The Role: The Commercial Estimator role focuses on increasing commercial sales and brand awareness, acquiring new customers, and coordinating customer services to achieve profitability aligned with company goals.
Key responsibilities include: Tender ManagementConsistently look to source tenders through various avenues open to the industry.When tenders arrive, assess the type of tender, client and closing date of tender to determine prioritisation of all tenders.
Review and assess tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and are correct.Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc.
and provide feedback to the Commercial Manager.In conjunction with Mechanical Contractor and Consulting Engineer conduct due diligence for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in the tender documents.Perform Take-off and prepare quantities accurately and on a timely basis.Perform costing and pricing for tender in coordination with other departments and ensuring profitability guidelines and targets are maintained.Compile proposal/quotation, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender.Liaise with client on an ongoing basis to determine progress of tender.Compile relevant tender information into Quotation Register.Make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tender.Negotiate with clients to win tenders.Other Administration & Project ManagementReview order details relevant to the company's ability to deliver.Ensure accurate and timely information relating to the project is communicated to the relevant divisions of the company.Once tender has been successful, co-ordinate project documentation and schedules from the client.Project Manage the project from point order through to successful practical completion, in a cost-effective manner whilst maintaining an acceptable level of customer satisfaction.Identify and act on project variations on construction drawings that differ from Tender Drawings from which order was received.Liaise with other functional areas of the business to ensure smooth order flow and high standards of customer service are maintained.Provide support for the Management, Accounting, Administration, Manufacturing and Sales functions of the group.What you Bring: Technical or tertiary qualifications preferred, along with work experience in the air-conditioning industry.
