About the Role:
A growing FMCG company is looking for a Commercial Development Manager to come in and work with Sales and Marketing to take the business to the next level. You will work closely with the Head of Sales and Head Of Finance and be responsible for taking ownership of the commercials from a Finance perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse international market competition, regulatory landscape, and consumer trends to identify growth opportunities and potential challenges. Analyse international health/wellness/beauty categories to determine size, value, performance, market share, etc. Analyse international market customer/distributor landscape to identify and recommend the best route to market. Develop customer-specific promotional programs covering pricing depth & frequency, event-based campaigns, loyalty programs, and in-store execution. Develop tailored customer propositions to engage and excite retail partners to support the portfolio. Lead the coordination of industry and partner customer events to establish brand awareness in the UK and European markets. Provide ongoing support and education to customers on the portfolio. Develop and recommend suitable pricing and promotion strategies considering profitability, competitor positioning, and customer strategies. Develop and maintain financial models (P&Ls) for assigned markets/customers, forecasting sales, costs, and profitability. Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the feasibility of market entry and expansion plans. Monitor and model foreign exchange rates and country-specific taxes to provide forecasting consistency. Monitor and report on key financial metrics to ensure alignment with budget and profitability goals. Project manage the delivery of customer onboarding, portfolio setup, and SKU commercials with retail partners. Develop customer-specific supply forecasts across the portfolio to establish (and maintain) supply signals to internal and external production and logistics partners. Collaborate with internal and third-party supply partners to establish and maintain smooth product flow and inventory management. Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks (e.g., global changes, customs delays). Key Skills for the Role:
CA/CPA Qualified or studying towards. Perform variance analysis and develop financial models to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights. Maintain and improve financial models and databases to uphold data accuracy for strategic decision-making. Strong financial modelling and variance analysis. Prepare presentations for the executive team and Board, ensuring clarity and relevance of financial data. Work with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives, offering financial analysis and insights. The Successful Applicant:
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA Qualified Accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have very strong Microsoft Excel skills, be "hands-on," have prior exposure working in a Commercial Analyst role, and be comfortable in a start-up environment.
