Our Community Battery Team is at the forefront of this mission, developing technologies, products, and partnerships that accelerate renewable adoption through community battery solutions.As the Commercial & Business Development Manager for Community Batteries, you'll evaluate and develop commercial opportunities in this emerging industry. Reporting to the Program Delivery Lead, you'll support major agreements, manage negotiations, and establish contracts that position Origin as a leader in distributed energy storage solutions. This role will directly contribute to our journey to Net Zero by enhancing the reliability and sustainability of the energy grid. Your responsibilities will include:Support and at times lead negotiations on commercial terms and develop agreements with key stakeholders and partners, with support from legal and technical teams.Perform evaluations of community battery commercial opportunities, supporting decision-making with robust financial and risk analysis.Assist in operationalising commercial agreements, ensuring assets perform optimally and deliver on strategic goals.Develop new storage-as-a-service products for retail and commercial customers, identifying market needs and crafting solutions.Contribute to the annual business plan and strategic initiatives related to community batteries, preparing presentations for Executive and Board review.What will you bring?The ideal candidate will need strategic vision, strong relationship-building abilities, and adaptability to a fast-evolving energy sector. A customer-centric approach, commercial acumen, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a commitment to sustainability and innovation. Success in this role also requires communication to influence stakeholders, strong organisational skills for managing diverse workstreams, and a passion for continuous learning to stay current with industry changes. You will also demonstrate:5-7 years in energy markets, with a proven track record in commercial evaluations, negotiations, and contract management.Strong stakeholder management, communication and financial modelling abilities.
