Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Under the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Integrated Work Package (IWP), KBR provides Above The Line (ATL) Contracted Support (CS) to the GWEO Group, Department of Defence, across a range of programs, projects, and business functions. GWEO Group delivers a range of capabilities to directly enable the achievement of mission for Groups and Services. The Opportunity: The Commercial and Business Support Officer is accountable under general direction to perform delegated tasks and achieve the desired outcomes within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements. Responsibilities: Support the development of commercial strategies, including identification of the recommended procurement method. Provide input into, and clearance of, key planning documents including Endorsements to Proceed, Intellectual Property Needs Analysis, and Liability Risk Assessments (LRA). Draft/update commercial elements of Approach to Market pack, including conditions of tender and conditions of contract. Review technical specification, scope of Works (SOW), and associated annexes to ensure consistency with commercial elements of Approach to Market pack. Prepare and/or assist with the preparation of documentation including the Tender Evaluation Plan (TEP) and evaluation tools. Liaise with internal stakeholders, external legal service providers, external probity advisors, and Defence Legal to obtain necessary clearances and approvals. Draft the Contract Negotiation Directive (CND). Provide commercial Subject Matter Expert advice & support during negotiations. Apply legal and commercial risk principles and performance management frameworks related to procurement and contracting activities. Undertake business administration activities including the drafting of correspondence, briefs, and organisational plans, scheduling, and other activities required for effective office management. As the ideal candidate you will bring: Tertiary qualification in a relevant legal, business, or commercial field or minimum 5 years experience in a similar position. Demonstrated experience and practical knowledge of ASDEFCON contracts. Good communication and stakeholder management skills and experience. Strong attention to detail. All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Negative Vetting 1 Clearance or above should apply.
