As such, we invited applications from experienced Commercial Underwriters to join our high-performing lending team based in Sydney.
Using your analytical skills and industry expertise, you will evaluate the creditworthiness of clients, assess the risk associated with lending and investment activities, and provide recommendations to support sound decision-making.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include:Conducting a thorough analysis of applications to purchase/refinance commercially secured applications, as well as residentially secured applicationsMentoring and supporting the professional growth of junior underwritersCultivating trusted and reliable relationships with brokers and customersOffering scenario assistance to Business Development Managers and BrokersRequired skills and experience:Our ideal candidate will bring experience in the property and residential construction spaces from an underwriting perspective.Additionally, you will possess the following skills and attributes:A comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory legislation (mortgages)Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong sense of initiativeMeticulous attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional telephone mannerA technical understanding of underwriting and an ability to communicate coherently to clients, customers, and colleagues.Strong commercial acumen and the ability to shape and negotiate dealsThe ability to thrive in high-pressure environmentsWhat makes us a great place to work?Our most important asset is our people.
