That's where you come in.About the roleYou might be able to imagine the thousands of information points we gather every day across customers, locations, products, services and transactions.Your job will be to help us turn all that data and more into meaningful insights and actions, driving customer satisfaction and business performance for our Venues division. You'll then monitor and report on performance, adapting strategies as you go.In this newly created role and function, you will have the opportunity – and be expected - to seek out areas to create value. Ultimately, you will be focussed on driving margin enhancements.Working directly with the Chief Financial Officer, Venues business unit leader and the data team, you will be accountable for:Building a detailed understanding of performance drivers and levers for the business unit of 50+ venues, then turning these into simple financial models for scenario analysisArmed with the context of the venues' performance and broader market, analysing data to identify opportunities and challenges for discussion with business unit managementPartnering with the Venues management team to define action plans, implement and report on progressWorking in close partnership with our Senior Managers (cluster managers) and the front-line teams to explain and support changeContinuously reviewing performance vs expectation and identify areas of revenue and/or margin improvementCollaborating cross functionally with other business units and support teams to break down silos and elevate the commercial focus and competence of the businessGetting out and about to understand our sites, staff and customersParticipating in operational and technological projects as appropriateStar Group are already a large business yet continue to grow rapidly. It is critical that you can understand business performance, drivers/levers and context at a high level, but then be able and willing to dive into the detail.You will need to be curious – we're looking for someone to be a trusted business partner and advisor, who collaborates well but has their own ideas which they seek to validate.We work predominantly across PowerBI and Excel, so it is essential you can demonstrate a strong level of comfort with those applications.Experience in a multi-site environment is also essential, ideally in a matrixed multi-business unit structure.Hospitality or services industry experience could be advantageous but is certainly not essential.You will be a qualified accountant able to articulate your high-quality experience and impact in previous commercial roles.This is a full-time role based in our Eagle Farm Support Office.
