Your Role
As a Combat Engineer, you'll experience adventure and excitement outside the everyday.
You'll train as a specialist in military field engineering and learn a variety of transferable trade and combat-related skills.
There is no lack of variety in this role.
One day you could find yourself constructing temporary roads, bypasses, or fords.
The next, you could be operating rafts and ferries.
You will learn a range of skills, including how to operate a chainsaw, conduct demolition tasks, and clear a minefield.
Combat Engineers also play an important role during high-risk weather seasons and can be deployed on domestic operations to assist local state authorities.

Eligibility:
For this role, you must:
Be at least 17 years of age when you enter the ADF
Have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics
Be an Australian citizen.

Be reasonably fit and healthy.
Keeping fit is a big part of joining the ADF.
You'll need to pass a physical fitness test before you join, but don't worry, we'll give you tips to help you prepare.
Be able to successfully obtain a security clearance.
