Part Time, Parental Leave position at 12 hours per week until December 2026
About Cancer Services Cancer Services at St. Vincent's Hospital is provided across a broad range of inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient settings. Cancer Services are responsible for the management of multidisciplinary tumor stream meetings and service development and is located in the state of the art purpose-built Cancer Centre.
About the Role We are seeking an experienced registered nurse with highly developed clinical knowledge and skills in colorectal cancer nursing who has the ambition to further their professional career as an advanced nurse practitioner. You are responsible for the care coordination of patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer. You will support patient case management by ensuring multidisciplinary cancer treatment planning is provided and that patient care is delivered along the agreed treatment plan.
The Cancer Nurse Coordinator will support the multidisciplinary cancer care model and facilitate accurate and timely communication between team members. Working closely with the Colorectal Consultants, you will develop the role of the Colorectal Cancer Nurse Coordinator through ongoing review.
You must have highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively with the multidisciplinary team. Flexibility is integral to this position. You must be committed to colorectal cancer care and your own professional development.
Classification for this position will range between YY4 ($107,962 per annum pro rata).
Duties Ensure multidisciplinary cancer treatment planning is provided for all cancer patients.
Cancer patients receive optimal treatment without unnecessary delays or gaps in service provision.
Be the central liaison point between the members of the multidisciplinary cancer team and the primary surgical and medical units to promote service efficiency.
Your Contribution Current AHPRA registration as a registered nurse.
Postgraduate qualifications in urology/prostate cancer nursing (desirable).
Minimum 5 years previous experience as a Cancer Nurse Coordinator and/or Urological Nursing.
