Collections Officer, NTAG and Digitisation Job No: MUA32 Location: Darwin Join the team at MAGNT as our Collections Officer, NTAG and Digitisation! Are you passionate about art, culture, and preserving history? The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) is looking for a dedicated Collections Officer to support the launch of the Northern Territory Art Gallery (NTAG).
In this role, you'll collaborate with our Conservation team to ensure the safe documentation, storage, movement, and handling of collection items.
You'll also work closely with the Digitisation team to help preserve our collections for future generations.

Applications close 11:59pm ACST Sunday the 13th of October 2024 Selection Criteria Selection Criteria 1: Relevant (or working towards) tertiary qualifications in art, art history, history or museum studies or experience gained working in a museum or art gallery environment.
Selection Criteria 2: Experience in the handling of objects in a museum or art gallery environment.
Selection Criteria 3: Experience in the use of Collections Management Systems (EMu preferred).
Selection Criteria 4: Understanding of preventative conservation practices.
Selection Criteria 5: Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and completing tasks within scheduled timeframes.
Selection Criteria 6: Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to prepare high quality documentation.
Selection Criteria 7: Understanding and knowledge of WHS standards and the implementation in relation to safe practices for the movement, location, and storage of collections, lifting and carrying objects, climbing ladders and use of tools.
Selection Criteria 8: On occasion perform other duties as appropriate.
