$107,962 - $120,556 per annum plus Super

Are you a visionary with a strong drive for delivering outstanding library customer service, through collections analysis and planning, strong leadership and continuous improvement?
We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our library leadership team.
The incumbent will primarily lead the Collections and Local and Family History teams to help create and maintain a contemporary library service across multiple locations.
A little about the roleAs a key member of the library leadership team, this role will lead a team to ensure collection items help create and facilitate a contemporary library service that is responsive to the recreational, cultural and educational needs of the Boroondara community. The incumbent will have the ability to create and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships, including with different community groups, organisations, Historical Societies, and library suppliers, to benefit the wider Boroondara community.
Boroondara Libraries are well known for their collection items, and the ability to comprehensively analyse data relating to emerging trends, usage and loans to help guide future contemporary planning and change management practices, is essential in order to be successful in this role.
About youTo be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated library experience at a leadership level, preferably in a public libraryDemonstrated experience in cataloguing, acquisitions, orders, and shelf-ready, including collections maintenance, readers advisory and program developmentDemonstrated understanding of customer experience principles, and proven ability to work strategically to meet and exceed the expectations of library membersDemonstrated ability to resolve complex situations arising from working in a public space, including the ability to support people with challenging behavioursExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent written and report writing skillsEmployment RequirementsTertiary qualifications in library and information science which confers eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
