Collections Customer Service Officer

Randstad is taking expressions of interest for multiple debt collection officers for a Queensland State Government department. Working in a call centre environment, you will receive and make a high volume of calls relating to the collection of unrecovered debts. The role will see you assisting Queensland residents with debts and payments to ensure a positive outcome for all.
Key duties:
Proactively supporting clients to recover debts
Use judgment to make effective assessments and decisions
Providing helpful advice and consistent information/education to clients
Interpret relevant legislation to make sound decisions
Negotiate appropriate actions to recover outstanding and finalising debts
Provide excellent service at all times in line with procedures

Skills/experience required:
Previous recoveries/collections experience highly advantageous
Previous experience in a high volume contact centre environment, with an ability to adhere to KPIs
Proven experience dealing with difficult conversations, with strong negotiation skills
Ability to quickly develop an understanding of legislations, policies and procedures
High levels of resilience
Able to work on rotating shifts Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Can undergo a criminal history check to be successful for the role

This assignment will begin in December 2024/January 2025, as a 2 month assignment initially, with the potential to extend. This is a standard 38 hour working week, paying $49.40 per hour plus super.
