$93,475 to $102,606 pa +17 % Super + 6 weeks leaveCollections and Copyright SpecialistFull time, continuing appointmentProfessional Level 7 Salary - $93,475 to $102,606 paPlus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leaveCasuarina CampusLead the management, maintenance and development of the library's cultural, heritage and archival collections and provide copyright services at Charles Darwin University (CDU).About the PositionThe CDU Library is at the heart of teaching, learning and research support.As the Collections and Copyright Specialist, you will provide leadership and direction in the development and management of Library cultural, heritage and archival collections.
You will oversee the implementation of accurate and respectful descriptions for materials created by or containing information about First Nations people, communities and culture.This position provides expert services in the development of digital collection standards, the application of contemporary metadata schema, and the enhancement of discoverability through integrations with local, national and international platforms.
You will be the subject matter expert in copyright management, responsible for ensuring compliance with copyright legislation and providing advice and training as required.About YouTo be successful, you will require:A Degree in Information Management or Librarianship with at least 4 years' experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.Demonstrated understanding of Australian Copyright legislation and its application to collection development and information access.Demonstrated knowledge and experience of cataloguing standards and schema and best practice in metadata management.Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of collection management principles including legal and ethical considerations along with experience in managing cultural, heritage and archival or digital collections.Demonstrated high level communication skills with proven ability in negotiation and interpersonal communication.High level analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve specific objectives.RemunerationAppointment to this role will be at Professional Level 7.
The base salary will be in the range of $93,475 to $102,606 per annum.
