Sales, Marketing and Innovation | Customer Service/Call Centre, Sales/MarketingReporting to the Exhibitions and Collections Coordinator, theCollections Assistant will provide administrative support andassistance with research, exhibition content, maintaining thecollection database, responding to public enquires, digitisation,collection stocktake and assisting internal staff to access thecollection where appropriate. They will keep accurate records andtake responsibility for meeting deadlines. The Collection Officerwill also perform the duties of a Visitor Experience Host ifrequired.The Collection Officer will have an opportunity to learn andparticipate in all aspects of the Museum, Education and VisitorServices activities to broaden their skills and abilities. Pleasenote, due to the nature of this role it is based on-site at Deakin,with limited ability to work from home/remotely.The duties of this position include:1. Providing administrative support including updatingand maintaining the collection database, object accessioning andbasic conservation.2. Responding to online, telephone and email enquiriesrelated to the collection and the gallery spaces.3. Undertaking a stocktake of the National CoinCollection assets and ensure items are accurately recorded, storedand accessible.4. Undertaking research regarding the collection forexhibitions and programs.5. Assisting internal staff to access the collectionas needed.6. Performing the duties of a Visitor Experience hostas required, including presenting educational offerings, publicprograms, interacting with visitors and assisting with the greetingdesk.7. Where required, provide administrative support tothe broader Museum, Education and Visitor Services Team at therequest of the Manager, Public Engagement.8. Understanding and complying with all workplacehealth and safety responsibilities, including undertaking theduties of an emergency warden.9. Undertaking other duties as required.Security clearanceThis position requires a Baseline security clearance.
